How you start your day is so important. That’s why over the years, I’ve put a lot of thought and planning into my morning routine. Now, I’m sharing my top five morning routine must-haves with you!
1. Realignment Mobility Breath-Work - I didn’t say stretch because the goal is realignment after a long period of inactivity. (Air flow required.)
I’ve been working in the health field for years and there’s not nearly enough people talking about the importance of breath work. The way we breathe directly correlates with our mobility. But, over the years we develop bad breathing habits. Try starting your morning with some of these movements.
2. 4 Glasses of Water - Yes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day but you need water more than food.
Some of my go-to morning drinks are hot lime tea, hot fresh ginger tea, hot lemon water and hot camomile tea. Not to mention they’re great for your gut too.
3. Spiritual Mediation - this is not the same as mediating post workout due to intension and position in space.
Did you know that goals we set intentions for are more often reached? Think of it as meditation that focuses on creating a deeper connection and understanding with a higher power. Whatever you choose that higher power to be is totally up to you! Some of the benefits include a reduction in stress, increase in creativity and better understanding of life purpose.
4. Journaling - this is a great way to ground your present thoughts within the scope of your designed life.
There are a lot of approaches here, but I like my current template. If you’d like more resources on journaling and free template guides then I suggest you subscribe to my mailing list. I send out helpful resources multiple times a month.
5. Organize the day - Personally, I organize mine based on my long-term goals.
Before you launch into the rest of your day, how are you structuring it? It’s easy to go off track when you don’t have a clear direction. Following a to-do list will help you stay focused. If you want to take it a step further, identifying one or two things on that list that matter most can help keep you from getting overwhelmed when looking at that list.
These five things are how I start my morning everyday. I’ll be posting more how to videos and behind the scenes looks on my YouTube channel so if you haven’t already, make sure you’re subscribed here.
